Уманський район — розташований майже в самому центрі України на перехресті ключових транспортних артерій. Район був утворений у 2020 році з адміністративним центром у місті Умань та охоплює площу понад 4528 км², що становить 21,6% території Черкаської області. Завдяки своєму розташуванню, через район пролягають міжнародні автомагістралі М-05 (Київ — Одеса) та М-30 (Стрий — Ізварине), а також національні та регіональні дороги, що робить його одним із найважливіших логістичних вузлів країни.
Уманщина володіє значним туристичним потенціалом, поєднуючи сучасну готельну інфраструктуру та багату культурну спадщину. На території району діють музеї, серед яких краєзнавчі, художні, а також унікальні об’єкти, як-от Музей української гармоніки у Жашкові та музей-садиба К. М. Дерев’янка. Uman district is located almost in the very center of Ukraine at the crossroads of key transport arteries. The district was formed in 2020 with its administrative center in the city of Uman and covers an area of over 4,528 km², which constitutes 21.6% of the Cherkasy region’s territory. Thanks to its location, the international highways M-05 (Kyiv — Odesa) and M-30 (Stryi — Izvaryne), as well as national and regional roads, pass through the district, making it one of the country’s most important logistics hubs.
The Uman region possesses significant tourism potential, combining modern hotel infrastructure with a rich cultural heritage. There are various museums operating within the district, including local lore and art museums, as well as unique sites such as the Museum of the Ukrainian Harmonica in Zhashkiv and the K. M. Derevyanko Estate-Museum. In addition to cultural landmarks, guests of the district can take advantage of hotel services, which makes the region attractive for both business tourism and cultural and educational recreation.
