The monument to the characters of M. Starytskyi’s play Chasing Two Hares, Svyryd Holokhvastov and Pronia Prokopivna, was installed in Cherkasy, despite the city having no connection to the events described in the play. The initiative for its creation came from local entrepreneurs in Cherkasy.

The sculpture was crafted by sculptor Oleksandr Hulbys, who watched the comedy Chasing Two Hares more than 70 times to create this masterpiece!
