Lebedyn Saint Nicholas Women’s Monastery is an Orthodox convent located in a picturesque forest near the village of Lebedyn, Shpola District, Cherkasy region. The monastery was founded in 1779. According to tradition, it was established by several nuns who fled from the destroyed Moldavian Kalatur Monastery — among them were Magdalina and Tryfilia. During the 19th century, the monastery became a spiritual and educational center of the region, hosting parish schools and pilgrims. A spring known as the „Magdalina Spring” is located nearby and is believed to have healing properties.

The monastery was closed during the Soviet period (in the late 1920s – early 1930s), and part of its buildings fell into disrepair. It briefly reopened during the German occupation but remained closed after World War II. The revival began in the late 20th century, and by the 1990s the convent was officially restored. The monastery complex includes a stone gate-bell tower, cells, and a restored church. Visitors note its peaceful atmosphere, well-kept grounds, and traditional hospitality toward pilgrims.
