About the „Kholodnyi Yar“ Tract

The „Kholodnyi Yar“ tract covers an area of nearly 7,000 hectares. It is a relict forest with numerous ravines, hills, streams, and springs.
By the number of unique archaeological, historical, and scientific sites, Kholodnyi Yar ranks first in Ukraine. It is named after the forest tract of the same name – „Kholodnyi Yar“. Since January 2022, the territory has been part of the Kholodnyi Yar National Nature Park.

On the territory of Kholodnyi Yar, one can see Scythian-era burial mounds and a fortress (its ramparts reach ten meters in height), the Holy Trinity Motronynskyi Convent, the springs „Dziurkalo“ and „Saint Onuphrius“, the snowdrop nature reserve „Bilosnizhnyi“, the memorial complex „Pantheon of Heroes“, as well as the thousand-year-old oak of Maksym Zalizniak.
