About the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
In the village of Khalaidove, the first wooden Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1745 and remained the spiritual center of the community for more than 150 years. In 1913, it was replaced by a new stone church with five elongated domes and a bell tower. The architecture of the building is designed in the „Eparchial style“, which combines traditional Orthodox forms with elements of monumentality and restrained grandeur.
The graceful proportions of the domes give the temple a distinctive southern character, making it the true adornment of the village. Today, the church continues to serve its original purpose – it remains active and open to visitors, who can not only admire its architecture but also experience the spiritual atmosphere of this sacred place.
