Located center-stage on Khreshchatyk Street, the Cherkasy Regional Philharmonic began construction in 1955 on the site of a pre-revolutionary hotel and lodging house, with its facade finalized in 1961.
. Architects S. Fursenko and L. Kondratsky, along with engineers A. Stetsenko and E. Tsarenko, designed the facade in the style of Soviet-modernist cultural buildings, featuring clean geometry, large windows, and a minimalist outline. Originally planned as a modest club-style building for 400–500 seats, the design was later expanded to include a foyer and additional halls.

Inside, the complex now houses a grand concert hall, a chamber hall, an orchestra pit, rehearsal rooms, and even a café – creating a comprehensive cultural venue. The interior captivates with its ornate details: a grand crystal chandelier, a ceiling styled as a starry night sky, mirrored accents for infinity effects – all evoking a fairy-tale ambiance for the audience. After major renovations in the 1990s–2000s, the Philharmonic now seats about 900 and boasts one of Ukraine’s top three acoustic halls, standing alongside the nation’s grand opera houses
