The monument to the famous bard Boyan is located on the 700th Anniversary Square of Cherkasy. Boyan sits on a stone covered with a bear skin, symbolizing a defeated enemy.

Nearby, three spears rise high – the state emblem of Prince Volodymyr, signifying Boyan’s affiliation with Kyiv’s princely retinue. The sculpture was created by A. V. Kushch.
