The monument is a cone-shaped granite obelisk standing 15 meters tall. A wrought oak-and-viburnum wreath with the inscription „To the Fighters for Ukraine’s Freedom“ is placed on the obelisk. At its base, eight commemorative stone slabs bear dedications to participants of Ukraine’s national liberation struggles from different historical period.
Atop the obelisk stands a two-meter bronze sculpture of Archangel Michael, the patron of Ukrainian warriors. The monument was designed by Cherkasy architect Yuriy Kalashnyk and renowned Ukrainian sculptor Mykola Bilyk.
