The museum was established within the Kamianka State Historical and Cultural Reserve. The „Green House“ is part of the former Davydov family estate in Kamianka. It is located deep in an alley that extends from Heroiv Maidanu Street along the Tiasmyn River. Built in the early 19th century, it served as one of the estate’s wings. The house got its name from its predominant green color: a green roof, green shutters, and a green gallery. This wing housed part of the Davydov family library, a billiard room, and game tables, earning it the nickname „Card House“.

The museum’s seven halls offer an engaging experience, displaying around 2,500 exhibits of various kinds. The exhibitions cover the city’s origins from the 17th century, the period of 1917-1920, World War II, and numismatic collections. Additionally, visitors can admire a rich art gallery.
