The Square of Knowledge in front of Cherkasy State Technological University is adorned with two fountains. The first fountain was built in 1960, simultaneously with the university, but in the 1990s, it was filled with soil and ceased to exist. In 2010, it was restored in the form of an open book sculpture. Next to it, another fountain with a sculpture was erected, and together they form the composition „Steps of Knowledge”.

As soon as the fountains started operating, a student legend emerged at Cherkasy State Technological University: they are believed to bring success in studies – one just needs to toss a coin into the water.
