The Kamianka State Historical and Cultural Reserve was established in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated July 21, 1995, No. 541, and the order of the Head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration dated September 28, 1995, No. 54, with the purpose of preserving the complex of historical, cultural, and natural monuments of the city of Kamianka. The total area of the reserve covers 10.1 hectares. The reserve includes a literary and memorial museum, a historical museum, and an art gallery. One of its most valuable architectural landmarks is the wing of the Davydov estate, known as the Green House, which now hosts the museum exhibition. Another significant monument on the territory is the watermill built in early 1825 – a unique example of utility architecture. The ensemble also features a park laid out in the late 18th century and a decorative grotto constructed during the same period.

Among the historical landmarks are the house of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s sister and the grave of Maria Davydova. The reserve also contains monuments dedicated to the Decembrists, Alexander Pushkin, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, a Decembrists’ stele, and a commemorative sign at the entrance to Kamianka. The natural highlights of the reserve include the Tiasmyn Canyon and the Maiden’s Rock, which create a picturesque landscape and attract visitors with their scenic beauty and romantic atmosphere.The reserve functions as a research and cultural-educational institution. It conducts scholarly research, organizes exhibitions, preserves museum collections, ensures the protection of immovable monuments, and promotes historical and cultural heritage. Each year, more than 30,000 visitors come to the reserve, making it one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Cherkasy region.
