About historical and ethnographic museum-sans-serif „Cossack lands of Ukraine“
The historical and ethnographic museum-sans-serif „Cossack lands of Ukraine“ is located in the village of Veremiiivka, Zolotonosha District. The complex recreates a model of a 17th–18th century Cossack farmstead on an area of approximately 25 hectares. During the time of Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, a сотенне Cossack town existed on these lands, serving as an important administrative unit of the Cossack Hetmanate. The museum was established to preserve and promote the traditional culture, architecture, and everyday life of the Ukrainian Cossacks.
Its territory features reconstructed residential and хозяйські buildings typical of a Cossack settlement, as well as a large stone building designed as a regimental treasury in the style of early 18th-century Ukrainian Cossack Baroque. The architectural concepts are based on historical prototypes and reflect the characteristic features of Cossack-era construction. Near the farmstead stand large restored wooden windmills that remain operational. They represent traditional Ukrainian engineering practices and form an important part of the historical landscape of the complex.
