
About State Historical and Architectural Reserve „Stara Uman“
The State Historical and Architectural Reserve „Stara Uman“ is a reserve located in the city of Uman, Cherkasy region, which includes 69 architectural monuments, 24 historical monuments, 6 monuments of monumental art located on an area of 82 hectares. The administration of the Conservation Area is located in the restored part of the building of the former Basilian Monastery, located at 31 Nebesna Sotnia Street, Uman. The reserve is located on the territory of 82 hectares of the historical part of Uman and includes 68 cultural heritage sites. Among them are two monuments of national importance: Trade Rows (Town Hall) and the Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
23 objects of the reserve have the status of monuments of local significance, while the rest are classified as newly discovered—43 monuments. According to the register of architectural monuments, there are 150 objects in the city. In addition, there are also the Ancient Fortress archeological monument, the historical and cultural center of the Bratslav Hasidim at the grave of Tzadik Nachman, and monuments of history, nature, and monumental art.
