The Holy Onufriy Monastery is one of the most mysterious spiritual landmarks in Cherkasy region. It was founded around 1706 and is located in the picturesque village of Chubivka, surrounded by hills and legends. One of its main attractions is the underground Church of St. Nicholas, connected by a network of caves and tunnels stretching over 70 meters. According to local legend, a secret passage links it with the Motronyn Monastery – once used by the Cold Yar rebels to escape danger.

In the past, the monastery housed an icon-painting school. During Soviet times, it was closed and turned into a storage facility. Since 1993, the site has been revived and is now an active monastery with bees, orchards, and accommodation for pilgrims. Visitors are welcomed to explore its peaceful grounds, learn its history, and feel the sacred atmosphere of one of the oldest monasteries in Central Ukraine.
